What’s Blockchain Got To Do With EVs? (And Other Cool Stuff)

Episode 155

Brad Smith, Founder and Principal Consultant at Leroy Lynn joins the show today to talk about why blockchain technology is poised to have a major impact on the automotive and EV industries due to its decentralized nature, efficient transactions, and ability to provide trust and transparency. Brad talked about all the key benefits of blockchain for EVs including micro-transactions for vehicle data, securing digital identities, and battery passports that track battery health and history. One of the most interesting applications (in my opinon) was the “Battery Passport” which has the potential to completely revolutionize the used EV market, as they provide a tamper-proof record of a battery’s origin, usage, and condition. Although widespread implementation has not yet been achieved, be sure to follow Brad to stay on top of all the exciting new developments in this space!
